Biography
Meet Angel Velasquez, our 2024–2025 Public Awareness Director! After attending the Tinsel & Tiara Holiday Party, Angel looked up the meaning of “Soroptimist” and instantly knew she’d found her place. Since then, she’s jumped into service—volunteering at events, attending meetings, and now leading our public awareness efforts by helping to spotlight Soroptimist’s mission and accomplishments through social media.
Professionally, Angel has worked as a family law paralegal for over 20 years, a path she began while navigating her own divorce as a single mom. Her journey led her to start her own business, Angel in My Corner, where she has helped thousands of families through legal transitions with compassion, fairness, and strength. She moved to Big Bear in 2021, and while she briefly explored the vacation rental world, she’s since returned to her legal roots and is continuing her studies in law.
Angel is a proud mom of three grown children and a vibrant soul who loves iced coffee, crystals, yoga, the L.A. Dodgers, and moonlit dance sessions. A natural empath, she’s always ready to lend an ear and uplift others. Her favorite Soroptimist committee is Dream It, Be It, and she loves attending socials where she connects with likeminded women giving back to their community. We’re lucky to have Angel’s bright energy and big heart on our team!
