WOMEN'S HEALTH/MAMMOGRAM PROGRAM:

In the early 1990’s, and in conjunction with Bear Valley Community Hospital, Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley (SIBBV) established a Mammogram Program for women who were uninsured or under-insured. SIBBV offers low cost or free Mammograms on a year round basis. In 2015 SIBBV donated $80,000 to our local hospital to help fund a new 3-D Mammogram Machine, so that they could offer examinations using the most current technology. Over 1,000 patients have taken advantage of this program since it began.

Our health committee has also hosted a women’s Health Expo and is currently sponsoring a series of Health Related Awareness commercials in an effort to foster a healthy community, which are regularly broadcast on our local radio station.
